Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council

The Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council (CIAC) provides leadership and strategic direction for the Trusted Information Sharing Network (TISN). CIAC supports collaboration and advance initiatives to uplift the security and resilience of Australia’s critical infrastructure.

In line with these responsibilities, CIAC:

  • provides strategic oversight and direction to the TISN sector groups, communities of interest, and expert advisory groups including the Resilience Expert Advisory Group (REAG) and the Supply Chain Expert Advisory Group (SCEAG).
  • maintains good governance of the TISN, including overseeing the work of the sector groups, expert advisory groups and communities of interest.
  • assists the Australian Government with the implementation, interpretation and review of the Australian Government’s 2023 Critical Infrastructure Resilience Strategy and Plan.
  • identifies and progresses cross-cutting issues and interdependencies between TISN stakeholders.
  • continues to improve a common understanding and approach to critical infrastructure resilience across the critical infrastructure community.

CIAC is comprised of:

  • TISN sector group chairs (industry representatives)
  • Australian Government, state and territory government representatives.
  • New Zealand government representatives.

CIAC has governance in place to articulate its role and responsibilities in the TISN environment. This includes collaborating with TISN sector group members to deliver the  Australian Government’s 2023 Critical Infrastructure Resilience Strategy and Plan.
