Australia’s critical infrastructure environment is changing, becoming increasingly interconnected and interdependent. Critical infrastructure entities increasingly rely on suppliers and managed service providers that are not covered by security regulation. Vulnerabilities and hazards in these supply chains can create risks that spread across sectors.
The Supply Chain Expert Advisory Group (SCEAG) formed in July 2025 to help strengthen the security and resilience of critical infrastructure supply chains.
Working with industry and supply chain experts, the SCEAG aims to:
- Improve the shared understanding of nationally significant critical infrastructure supply chains and interdependencies.
- Build a common understanding of supply chain threats across different sectors. Also work collectively to develop best practice strategies to assess and manage these risks.
SCEAG supports the Trusted Information Sharing Network (TISN) and the Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council (CIAC) by providing expert advice on supply chain issues that affect critical infrastructure.
The SCEAG has produced a factsheet that outlines main threats to critical infrastructure supply chains and best-practice approaches to improve supply chain resilience. This factsheet is called Supply Chain Expert Advisory Group (SCEAG) Factsheet.
