TISN sector groups

TISN sector groups enable critical infrastructure owners and operators to share information on threats and vulnerabilities. They also provide a space for members to collaborate on appropriate measures to mitigate risk and boost resilience.

The Australian Government supports each sector group, both with secretariat support and with subject matter expertise. You may be able to join multiple TISN sector groups if your critical infrastructure asset falls under multiple sectors. For example, you may own a transport asset that links into the food and grocery sector, so you may be able to join both the Food and Grocery and the Transport sector groups.

Each sector group is led by a sector chair, or co-chairs, who are industry representatives. The sector chairs are responsible for providing leadership to their sector group and distributing information, including communications from the Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council (CIAC).

Some sector groups have been enhanced to include sector segmentation, which enables targeted engagement for members within specific areas of the sector.

For example, the Transport Sector Group includes:

  • aviation
  • air cargo
  • maritime
  • land transport.

The TISN sector groups are as follows:
