Approved accreditation tests are a component of the
Screener Accreditation Scheme.
Some accreditation tests may cover multiple screening/examination functions or powers. This simplifies the testing process and reduces the number of potential tests a screening or examination officer (screener) needs to complete.
All screening functions related to operating an X-ray image machine have two accreditation tests:
- an X-ray image interpretation test
- a workplace practical assessment.
Screeners must successfully complete both to perform these screening functions.
Where a screening/examination function or power has no accreditation test attributed to it, it may be exercised by any screener. This only applies if the screener has completed at least one test in the relevant sector of aviation, maritime or air cargo.
