To ensure the integrity of the aviation sector, businesses registered under the following schemes must provide security awareness training to employees and contractors:
As a RACA, AACA or Known Consignor, you must:
- ensure that individuals receive refresher training at least every two years, and
- record information about all security awareness training completed by your employees.
Free online training module
Access our free online training module, Air Cargo Security Awareness Training from the Security Awareness Training Portal.
The portal has individual training modules for Air Cargo (RACAs, AACAs, Known Consignors), plus Aviation and Maritime sectors. Staff will need to complete the correct training module in line with the scheme of their employer (RACA, AACA or Known Consignor).
The training module includes assessment questions and is specifically designed to meet the learning outcomes specified in the RACA, AACA and Known Consignor security programs.
Once completed, individuals working for RACAs, AACAs and Known Consignors should be able to:
- describe the current aviation and air cargo threat context
- explain the roles played by industry and government in protecting supply chain and air cargo security
- follow and apply their workplace procedures to protect the security of air cargo
- identify suspicious activities, behaviour and cargo
- respond to and report suspicious activities, behaviour and cargo
- keep cargo secure through basic facility, information and personnel security measures.
For more information on your specific security awareness training requirements, refer to your transport security program.
