    This November, the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre is marking Australia’s Critical Infrastructure Security Month, with the theme - Critical Infrastructure Risk Management: A Shared Responsibility.

    Critical Infrastructure Security Month (CISM) ​is a nationwide effort to raise awareness and reaffirm our shared commitment to keeping Australia’s critical infrastructure secure and resilient. Critical infrastructure spans everything from energy, water, food, health care, transport networks, financial systems and communications. Keeping Australia’s critical infrastructure secure is important to our national security and economic prosperity and managing the risk is a shared responsibility.

    Welcome to Critical Infrastructure Security Month 2024

    Critical infrastructure Security Month 2024 is here. It’s a national month of action dedicated to boosting the security and resilience of critical infrastructure across Australia.

    Critical infrastructure spans everything from the energy sector, transportation and telecommunications, to education, water and healthcare and much more.

    The theme this year will be ‘Critical Infrastructure Risk Management: A Shared Responsibility’.

    Keeping Australia’s critical infrastructure secure is vital to our national security and economic prosperity, and managing the risk is also a shared responsibility.

    Our critical infrastructure security is under threat.

    If that is not addressed it could dramatically harm and disrupt the delivery of the essential services that Australians rely on every day.

    Australia continues to respond to large scale cyber incidents, including security threats from espionage and foreign interference.

    We also face vulnerabilities created by the emergence of new and emerging technologies, as well as supply chain security issues.

    The ongoing delivery of secure critical infrastructure services impacts all Australians.

    We’d like to share with you some of the work we will be doing to safeguard infrastructure this month, and we ask for your continued support in partnering with us to uplift the security of Australia’s most critical infrastructure.
