Our guiding principles inform our approach to engagement and critical infrastructure resilience and security.
We are industry focused and collaborative
We facilitate meaningful engagement to empower asset owners and operators to protect assets, systems, and services. This includes supply chains and networks we all depend on.
Our approach reflects the collaborative efforts of industry, governments, and the broader community. Partnership with asset owners and operators is vital. This supports mitigation and our response to specific threats or hazards that jeopardise the operation of critical infrastructure assets and systems.
Our wide-ranging functions and evolving expertise also position us to support planners and operators of emerging and future critical infrastructure assets.
Our Centre workforce and capability
We ensure our workforce supports Australia’s current and future critical infrastructure by providing tailored advice and assistance.
We are continuously deepening our expertise across all critical infrastructure sectors to build our capabilities in:
- critical infrastructure security
- cyber security
- aviation and maritime security
- identity security
- background-checking.
As new challenges arise, we will continue to develop new capabilities.
Best-practice regulation
We develop fit-for-purpose regulation, accreditation, and compliance frameworks.
We focus on educating stakeholders about their regulatory obligations and providing support to meet them.
When there is change required for standards, accreditation, policies, or legislation, these will be reasonable and proportionate to the risk or issue.
We will liaise with our international and domestic partners to assure continuous improvement.
We will build trust, collaborate, be accountable and transparent, avoid duplication, and take an intelligence-led, risk-based approach.
While promoting education and voluntary compliance with regulations underpinning the security of our critical infrastructure, we respond to non-compliance proportionately and appropriately.
